Under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 it requires new ID cards be produced and mailed with new Out-of-Pocket amounts when changes are made.
To help streamline this process regarding the issuance of compliant ID cards this year for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network the below Blue Alert outlines Blue's process and their calendar for issuing ID cards this year.
For members with deductible or out-of-pocket maximum changes, Blue will use a monthly compare process to issue compliant ID cards, with new cards being issued mid-month of the month the group renews in.
While members wait for a new card to arrive, the most up-to-date ID card will continue to be available in the member app.
