Turning 65 Soon?

Great news! You will soon be turning 65, which means you’ll be eligible to

enjoy the many benefits of a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplemental Plan.

First, you need to make some important Medicare choices.

The period for Medicare enrollment can come and go before you know it.

Miss it, and you could end up paying penalties.

Planning on working past 65....

Be sure to talk to your Human Resources representative or contact AJM Associates to learn more about your options once you turn 65.

Medicare enrollment begins three months before your 65th birthday and continues for 7 months. If you are still working and are covered by your employer group health insurance plan, it is possible you do not need to sign up for Medicare Part B right away. You will need to find out from your employer whether the employer’s plan is the primary insurer.

If Medicare, rather than the employer’s plan, is the primary insurer, then you will still

need to sign up for Part B. Even if you aren’t going to sign up for Part B, you should still enroll in Medicare Part A, which may help pay some of the costs not covered by your group health plan.

If you plan to retire...

  • Visit www.ssa.gov to apply for Medicare and enroll in Medicare Parts A and B (Original Medicare).

  • Or if you prefer, you can call Social Security at (800) 772-1213 to apply by phone or to make an in person appointment at your local Social Security office.

AJM Associates can help transition you into the Medicare plan option that best fits your financial and healthcare related needs. If you'd like to speak one-on-one about your options with an AJM Medicare expert, please call (248) 778-6070 or email us at info@ajmassoc.com.
